What is Human-in-the-loop?
Human-in-the-loop means designing AI workflows so that people review and approve important decisions, such as plans, code merges and releases, before they take effect.
Human-in-the-loop is a design principle: AI systems do the work, and people keep the decisions that carry risk or accountability. In software delivery, that usually means approving the plan before code is written, reviewing the pull request before it is merged and approving releases to production.
Why enterprises rely on it
- Accountability: a named person owns each significant decision.
- Quality: people catch intent and context errors that tests miss.
- Compliance: approvals leave the audit trail regulators expect.
